ABOUT US

We have some excellent & creative design ideas to suit any property. When you choose us we will give you the option to see some of our completed conversions, or one similar to that of yours, where you can see for yourself the high quality of workmanship & materials you would expect from our tradesmen & you will have the opportunity to speak with one of our many satisfied customers & they will agree that we deliver what we promise & complete when we say we will.

We work closely with our customers to work out what they want from their property & how to make best use of the area, we then develop an outline design, arrange for building control approval, structural calculations, & planning permission if required, & carry out the building work to completion. The standard of our workmanship is excellent & we bring a friendly & professional approach to our work, together with the understanding that we are working in our customers homes & that there needs to be a degree of flexibility in our approach.

Extensions and Alterations

 
In addition to your loft conversion whether it be a full or part build we also carry out a wide variety of home improvements including extensions & total refurbishments. In some conversions the preferred way of creating wardrobe space is by way of built in or fitted wardrobes, we can design & supply or supply & fit a wide range of traditional or contemporary fitted furniture solutions to suit any situation, & where space is restricted sliding or sliding folding doors in many different designs & or pull out beds can be used.

We will give you some great ideas for the best & maximum use of space. As not all options we will put forward are available for all types of conversions (whether it is due to space or budget), answers to the following questions if possible & if any are applicable will help in our survey & design, & your overall finished product;

  • How much headroom do I have?
  • What is the room to be used for?
  • How many rooms do I need?
  • Will I need a bathroom or en suite?
  • Will I need heating?
  • Do I need to keep a certain amount of storage space?
  • Will I need any built in or fitted wardrobes?
  • Will I need any floor finishes fitted?
  • Will I need a full or part build?
  • Is my property listed or in a conservation area?
  • In what room shall I fit the staircase?

There are many different types of staircase with various layouts so even when space is restricted a space saver staircase can be used.

 

THE BUILD TO COMPLETION

A suitable date & time will be arranged to begin the conversion as soon as all the relevant information has been agreed by all concerned including all the necessary plans & paperwork, party wall notices, build times & completion dates etc. The storage of materials skips & scaffolding if required & the best & most convenient way to access the loft will be agreed prior to commencement.

A loft conversion is not as disruptive as you might assume & we will always do our best to minimise the disruption to your home while the conversion is being carried out, to achieve this we will access the area to be converted via the scaffolding & or prepared openings or roof windows if possible. The removal of any walls & or ceilings to make way for the new staircase or any part of the conversion if applicable will be carried out in the later stages of the conversion if possible. If access through your home is required these areas will be protected to the best of our ability.

Our experienced team will then begin the construction of your loft conversion by installing the structural beams & floor structure & any roof windows, at this stage any pipe work & or electrical wiring will be relocated if required. The roof structure is then supported to allow us to form the basic layout of the new room including stud walls & or dormer structures if applicable, local building control carry out an inspection at this stage.

First fix electrical & plumbing works are carried out & any insulations to slopes & or ceilings are fitted. Any exterior works are completed if applicable including dormer tiling, flat roofing works & windows & trims etc, & the staircase is fitted. Building control carry out an inspection at this stage. Plaster boarding & plasterworks are then carried out & when this has dried out the second fix carpentry can be carried out including doors, skirting boards, architraves & stair parts etc & built in or fitted wardrobes if required along with the second fix electrical fittings, plumbing fittings & finishes. When all concerned are completely satisfied with the finished conversion all debris & materials etc are removed. A final inspection is carried out on completion to satisfy building control.
