BUNGALOW CONVERSION

Typically a bungalow conversion is the same as that of a house with the exception of the fire doors. In this case means of escape windows & or fire escape roof windows are fitted to all habitable rooms.

Create new living space in your roof or exrension. Add light with roof and dormer windows to create a vibrant and comfortable addition to your home. Add a new bathroom, office/work space for the home worker or somewhere for the family and grandchildren to sleep and relax. Contacts us to discuss your loft conversion or extension options and turn that one storey into your life story.

We work closely with our bungalow customers to work out what they want from their properties roof and attic space & how to make best use of the loft area. We then develop an outline design, arrange for building control approval, structural calculations, & planning permission if required, & carry out the building work to completion. The standard of our bungalow and single storey workmanship is excellent & we bring a friendly & professional approach to our work, together with the understanding that we are working in our customers bungalow homes & that there needs to be a degree of flexibility in our approach.

  • How much headroom do I have?
  • What is the room to be used for?
  • How many rooms do I need?
  • Will I need a bathroom or en suite?
  • Will I need heating?
  • Do I need to keep a certain amount of storage space?
  • Will I need any built in or fitted wardrobes?

TYPICAL ROOFS

Nearly all roof spaces can be converted assuming there is sufficient headroom, & even in situations where this is not the case in some properties the ceilings in existing bedrooms can be lowered to achieve this, this can all be determined at survey stage if in doubt.

There are many types & shapes of roof structures whether you live in a detached, semi detached or terraced house or bungalow but most are either traditionally built, with timber ceiling joists & summer beam supports, rafters with purlin supports & various posts & braces to spread the roof loads, or a more modern trussed rafter design or w shaped design. Either roof can easily be converted as long as the roof is correctly supported in the various stages of the conversion.
